Dr Helen Puusepp-Benazzouz

Dr Helen Puusepp-Benazzouz is an Australian-trained General Paediatrician who specialises in children’s health conditions from newborns to adolescents.
Dr Helen is a Consultant Paediatrician at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Ryde Hospital and is a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her paediatric training in Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and has more than ten years of experience in Paediatrics.
Dr Helen has extensive research experience with a PhD in paediatrics and genetics and has written several publications covering genetics, intellectual disability and treatment.
Dr Gavin Vajda
MBBS, FRACP
Paediatrician / Children’s Doctor
Dr Gavin Vajda is a Sydney Children’s Hospital Network-trained Paediatrician and a member of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He has extensive experience treating paediatric patients, from newborns to adolescents, with complex medical, behavioural, psychosocial and neurodevelopmental concerns.
Dr Gavin has been involved in research into reducing the risk of newborns being admitted into special care nurseries and in the treatment and management of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Dr Gavin is very much aware of the need for families to have an active role in their children’s medical care. Therefore he takes a family-centred and evidence-based approach when addressing the needs of the children under his care.
Dr Emily Fitzpatrick
BMedSci(Hons), MBBS, DipCH, PhD, FRACP
Paediatrician / Children’s Doctor
Dr Emily Fitzpatrick is a General Paediatrician and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her training in the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and has gained experience in treating children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents, with a range of medical and developmental concerns.
Dr Emily also holds a PhD in Paediatrics and is a member of the Australian Society of Developmental Paediatrics. She is trained in both the Griffiths Scales of Child Development and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), providing her with the expertise to assess and manage complex developmental conditions.
With a strong commitment to working alongside families and General Practitioners, Dr Emily takes a collaborative approach to care, ensuring that each child’s needs are understood and addressed through personalised treatment plans.
Justine Harris
MA, Dip Clin Psych
Clinical Psychologist
Justine Harris is a NZ-trained Clinical Psychologist with a Diploma of Clinical Psychology and a Master of Arts from the University of Otago. She is registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, holds a clinical endorsement, and has worked in Sydney for almost 20 years. She is committed to providing evidence-based, ethical, and client- and family-focused psychological services. She has extensive experience in clinical practice, clinical leadership, and program design and implementation in New Zealand (NZ) and Australia. providing support to young people and can be a motivator for kids to attend.

Justine also has a small therapy dog, Stella, who can attend sessions if families request it. She is good at providing support to young people and can be a motivator for kids to attend.

Dr Helen Puusepp-Benazzouz, Dr Gavin Vajda and Dr Emily Fitzpatrick are paediatricians dedicated to providing comprehensive care to all children, from newborns to adolescents up to 18 years of age and have a wide range of experience. All doctors take a family-centred approach, working together with parents, carers and all health professionals to provide the best care for their patients.

Justine Harris, our psychologist, can provide:
As a Clinical Psychologist, Justine can offer psychological assessment and treatment to children aged 3 to 18 years using evidence-based approaches, including behavioural therapy, parent management training, and cognitive behavioural approaches. Family is always included in her work with children.
Justine’s area of focus is to support children and families struggling with:
- Anger and emotion regulation skills
- Anxiety, or excessive worry
- Attention and concentration challenges, including ADHD
- Autism spectrum disorders, with a focus on providing support to parents
- Behavioural struggles, such as aggression, meltdowns and tantrums
- Depression and self-harm
- Challenging, oppositional and conduct-disordered behaviour
- School refusal
- Sleep and eating difficulties
- Social difficulties, including bullying, and help with developing social skills
- Mental health struggles following traumatic events
Justine can offer the following cognitive assessments: WISC for children 6 to 16 years and the WIPPSI for children 2 to 7 years

We are located in the BMD/Urbex building attached to the Pulse Club at the Waterfront.
Parking is unlimited or free of charge for three hours on the surrounding streets. Please pay attention to the signs!
If you park on The Piazza and face the Pulse Club, turn right. The entrance to the clinic is just around the corner to your left.
If you are taking public transport, we recommend you visit the website www.transportnsw.info to assist you in planning your trip. There is a free Baylink Shuttle every 15 minutes from Rhodes train station. When you exit the bus at ‘Pulse, Stromboli Strait’, turn left, the entrance to the building is just around the corner.
